Union Home Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah on Saturday (September 27, 2025) targeted INDIA bloc in Bihar asserting that this election is about driving out “infiltrators” from the entire State.
Bihar Assembly elections: Full coverage
Mr. Shah urged people to ensure victory in more than 160 seats in Bihar out of a total 243 seats and the BJP promises to chase away infiltrators from the sacred land of Bihar.
Lashing out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Rashtriya Janata chief Lalu Prasad, Mr. Shah said: “Rahul baba, listen carefully: not just Bihar, wherever you take out a yatra, BJP’s resolve is that we will remove every single infiltrator. Rahul baba and Lalu’s parties want to protect the infiltrators, and we want to remove the infiltrators.”
Mr. Shah said this while addressing the Mandal Karyakarta Sammelan in Araria where more than 4,000 workers of ten districts had gathered in Seemanchal region.
He added that for Mr. Prasad this election means making his son Tejashwi Yadav as the Chief Minister but for BJP this election is about taking Bihar on the path of progress, freeing Kosi region from floods, driving out infiltrators from Bihar and not letting ‘jungle raj’ return to the State.
Targeting the Opposition over corruption, Mr. Shah said: “Lalu and company looted Bihar, carried out heaps of scams, and Congress also looted the country. Whereas for the past 11 years, Narendra Modi ji’s government has been in power in the country, and our opponents have not been able to level even a single allegation of corruption against us.”
Accompanied by both Deputy Chief Ministers of Bihar, Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, he thanked the voters saying in the 2020 Assembly election, except for Kishanganj, the BJP-led alliance came out on top in every district be it Bhagalpur, Banka, Araria, Purnia, Katihar, Supaul, Saharsa, and Madhepura.

‘Four different Diwalis’
Mr. Shah said that this year, people will be celebrating Diwali four times — first on the actual day of Diwali marking Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya, second when Prime Minister Narendra Modi transfers ₹10,000 each to the bank accounts of 75 lakh women of Bihar, third when the PM reduced GST across 395 items and fourth when the NDA will secure more than 160 seats to form the government in Bihar.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Shah held a closed-door meeting with the party workers and leaders in Samastipur district.

RJD did nothing: Nitish
In a separate programme of NDA’s workers meeting in Katihar, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar slammed the RJD for not doing any work during its tenure.
While addressing the NDA workers at Dharampur Gandhi High School, Mr. Kumar said: “It has been 20 years since I have begun developing Bihar. You all know that the government before 2005 did nothing, due to which Bihar was in a very bad state. There was a lot of conflict in society. People were afraid to leave their homes after dusk. An atmosphere of fear and intimidation prevailed throughout the State.”
He also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 242 schemes worth ₹583 crore in Katihar and 25 schemes worth ₹8,328.82 crore in Madhubani district.
Bihar BJP’s election in-charge and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited several places in the state capital, Patna, on Saturday going door-to-door to speak with people. During this campaign, he also urged people to embrace swadeshi goods.
He also gathered feedback on the benefits of the Union and State government schemes. Mr. Pradhan interacted with people and sought their opinions about the upcoming election as well.
“The immense love and support received during the public outreach clearly shows that the people of Bihar, under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the strong leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, have resolved to form the NDA government with a thumping majority,” he added.
He was accompanied by Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia, National Secretary Rituraj Sinha, and BJP’s national media co-incharge Sanjay Mayukh.
