The voting for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 concluded on February 5 with an overall voter turnout of 60.39%. The eagerly awaited results are scheduled to be announced on Saturday (February 8, 2024).
Most of the exit polls have predicted the return of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies to power in the Delhi Assembly polls after 27 years, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was projected to finish second and the Congress a distant third.
A total of 699 candidates were in the fray, with the AAP and Congress fielding 70 candidates each and the BJP 68 candidates, while two seats were being contested by its allies Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). In New Delhi constituency, where Mr. Kejriwal had fought to retain his seat, the BJP and Congress had fielded sons of former Chief Ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh and Sandeep Dikshit.
When is the counting and how to check the Delhi election results?
The counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly polls will begin at 8 a.m. on February 8. Postal ballots will be counted first, followed by Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
The official results may be checked on the website of the Election Commission of India at eci.gov.in. The results will also be displayed in real-time at the portal results.eci.gov.in.
