As part of our commitment to keeping voters informed, we delve into critical statistics concerning candidates vying for a place in the assembly. Our analysis is based on data sourced from the ADR report revealing crucial insights about the candidates contesting this election.
Out of 699 candidates analyzed, we found that 324 candidates, accounting for 46 percent, claim to have educational qualifications ranging from 5th to 12th standard. In contrast, another group of 322 candidates, also 46 percent, have declared themselves as graduates or hold higher qualifications. Notably, 18 candidates possess diplomas, while 6 individuals marked themselves as just literate, and tragically, 29 candidates are reported as illiterate.
In terms of age, the majority of candidates, 394 or 56 percent, are aged between 41 and 60 years. Meanwhile, 196 candidates, 28 percent, fall within the 25 to 40 age bracket. There are also 106 candidates, representing 15 percent, aged between 61 and 80 years, and 3 candidates who are above 80 years.
