Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bihar for fifth time in poll-year on Friday (July 18, 2025) and while, addressing a public meeting at Gandhi Maidan in Motihari of East Champaran district coined a new slogan “Banayenge naya Bihar, phir ek baar NDA Sarkar (will make new Bihar, once again there will be NDA government).
He also listed several welfare steps taken by both the central and State governments for the development of Bihar, especially poor people. Mr. Modi unveiled multiple projects worth over ₹7,200 crore and flagged off four Amrit Bharat Express trains on the occasion.
“In Bihar connectivity will be much better now. Team of Nitish Ji (Bihar CM Nitish Kumar) and BJP has done a lot of effort and now we’ve to make this pledge to banayenge naya Bihar, phir ek baar NDA Sarkar”, Mr. Modi said while addressing the public meeting.

He also listed several welfare steps taken by both the governments at the centre and in the State for “development of Bihar” and especially for the welfare of the poor people. “|Har pichade ko prathmikta (priority to every poor people) is our commitment”, said Mr. Modi while elaborating how several measures have been taken by his government to give priorities to the poor people of the backward areas.
Under a new government scheme, “we’ve decided to identify 100 poor districts to empower and benefits farmers through a scheme and most of these districts will be from Bihar as well”, he declared.
“Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna 3.6lakh crore rupees have been given to farmers and from them lakhs of farmers are from Bihar as well. We do work to show”, asserted the Prime Minister.
“In todays’ Bihar poor welfare measure schemes benefit are directly reaching to the poor people”, he said.
Mr. Modi also made reference of “Operation Sindoor” against terrorist organizations in Pakistan and said, “I had taken pledge of Operation Sindoor from the land of Bihar and today the whole world is watching its success”.
While slamming previous RJD and Congress governments, Mr. Modi said, “RJD cannot give you employment who had grabbed your land in their name”, he said making veiled reference to RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family members alleged involvement in land-for-job scam.
Earlier, Bihar was of lantern age but now this is Bihar of a new light, he asserted.
Bihar ka naya sankalp, NDA ke saath har pal (Bihar’s new pledge, every moment with NDA)”, Mr. Modi said.
The Prime Minister also referred to his government’s commitment to eradicate Maoism from the country saying, “Maoism is having its last breadth in those areas of Bihar as well where they were earlier active. Youths of those areas are having new dreams”, he said.
“Bihar must be a developed state for development of the eastern part of the country and unlike previous RJD-Congress governments our government has given more funds for Bihar’s development”, he added.
Mr. Modi also referred to the women empowerment. “Tremendous results have come out of women empowerment as over 20 lakh women have become lakhpati (millionaire) didis”, he said. He also touched upon the issue of providing jobs to youths of Bihar.
“My friend Nitish Ji is doing a lot for the development of Bihar and in support of BJP his government has announced to provide jobs to the young people of the state”, he said.
Recently, Nitish Kumar government has announced to provide 1 crore job to youths of the State in next five years.

Mr. Modi, earlier, had visited Bhagalpur, Madhubani, Rohtas and Siwan districts to address public meetings while unveiling and laying foundation stones for several thousand crore projects for development of the state.
Earlier, state BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal had said that “whenever he (PM Modi) comes to Bihar there is huge expectations by people of the state and he does not let them down”.
The Opposition RJD-Congress-Left party leaders, though saw nothing “unusual” in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s regular visit to the State and his address to public meetings. “This is election year and there is nothing unusual if a leader of the party comes to address public meetings and slam the Opposition party”, RJD spokespersons and leader Mrityunjay Tiwari said.
On the occasion Chief Minister Nitish Kumar too slammed the previous RJD regime saying “nothing was being don earlier” and praised PM Modi for “doing a lot for the development of the state”. Mr Kumar also spoke about welfare measures of his government like enhanced pension scheme, job creation and free 125-unit electricity in the state for the people.
Both deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Union Ministers Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Chirag Paswan and other senior leaders too were present on the occasion.
