Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday (July 8, 2025) accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of being engaged in unconstitutional practices ahead of the Assembly election in Bihar.
On the eve of the protest march in Patna organised against ECI on Wednesday (July 9, 2025) — Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will also participate in the march — Mr. Yadav posted a message on X saying that the motherland of democracy, Bihar, is witnessing violation of voter rights.
Raising questions on Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Mr. Yadav said that voter’s revision campaign 2025, conducted by the ECI in Bihar, is plagued with disorder, chaos, and unconstitutional practices, which are highly condemnable and dangerous for democracy.

He alleged that fake forms, without documents, without verification and oral instructions to fill forms without complete details are being practiced.
“Fake signatures and getting thumb impression from employees by declaring someone illiterate, uploading voter data without their knowledge, oral instructions to fill forms without documents, impossible and unimaginable pressure on ERO (Election Registration Officer) and BLO (Booth Level Officer) to upload 50% of forms in haste is going on,” Mr. Yadav alleged in his ‘X’ post.
He further said, “Impractical target of uploading 10,000 forms daily by data entry operators and supervisors. All this is being done in a hurry before the hearing in the Supreme Court on July 10, so that the truth can be concealed through data manipulation. In some places, it is orally stated that “Aadhaar card is enough,” while in others, it is said that “no documents are needed” — this has created massive confusion among voters.”
Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly asserted that he was personally speaking to party workers, BLOs, and common citizens and different stories everywhere.
“There’s a different story, a different fraud. It feels like “a live show of forgery is underway,” with new scripts and new tactics being adopted every day and every hour. When there are no resources, no internet, no training, no clear guidelines, no desired time — then why such haste? Is this a pre-planned conspiracy to remove genuine voters and influence the elections?” Mr. Yadav said.
He added, “This is not just an insult to the process; it is an attack on voter rights, a sinister attempt to tamper with the foundation of democracy. We will not let Bihar’s democracy be defiled like this. We will become the voice of every voter at every platform, at every level. Our fight to protect democracy will continue! Tomorrow, there will be a chakka jaam in Bihar against their dictatorship!”
On Monday (July 7, 2025), INDIA bloc leaders demanded to halt the SIR and continue it after the Assembly election.
