Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva on Thursday (February 7, 2025) said his party is poised to come to power in the Capital by winning more than 50 of the 70 Assembly seats.
“People have given a decisive mandate to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s double-engine government,” he said, addressing mediapersons after the conclusion of a review meeting with the 70 National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates, their election agents, and the party’s district presidents at the Delhi BJP office.
The meeting was chaired by BJP national president J.P. Nadda and included senior leaders of its Delhi unit, including election in-charge Baijayant Panda.
“We will win by a bigger margin than what the exit polls have predicted. People from all sections of society have voted against the corrupt, anarchic, and incompetent government of AAP,” said the Delhi BJP chief.
A senior leader who attended the meeting said the party, which conducted rallies, roadshows, and door-to-door drives, was successful in denting AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal’s “clean” image.
While AAP and the Congress fought on all 70 seats, the BJP fielded candidates in 68 constituencies, leaving a seat each for NDA allies — Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).
