Karol Bagh records the lowest voter turnout, Mustafabad highest

Mustafabad Assembly in north-east Delhi on Wednesday recorded the highest voter turnout at 69%, according to Election Commission data. It was followed by Seelampur — 68.70% — located in the same region.

In Mustafabad, several polling stations saw queues of voters throughout the day as they came out in large numbers to exercise their franchise. “For people living here [Mustafabad], a vote is a hope for change as they struggle for basic amenities. People also remember the Delhi riots [2020], when the lives of many were altered forever,” said Adil Ansari, 41, who works in a private company.

In Seelampur, Satbir Singh, 64, said people voted enthusiastically as the area saw a lot of campaigns ahead of the poll. “People here are more aware of politics,” he added. Sunil Sharma, 40, from the same area, said, “Seelampur is like a village. People know each other, and we come out in groups to vote.”
