In a significant crackdown ahead of the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, enforcement agencies have seized cash, narcotics, bullion, liquor, and freebies worth over ₹218 crore during monitoring and surveillance under the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) implementation.
According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi, the seizures include ₹38,64,20,564 in cash, marking a staggering 202% increase compared to the cash recovered during the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections.
The intensified surveillance has also led to the registration of 2,703 FIRs under various acts, surpassing the total of 2,067 FIRs recorded during the entire 2020 elections.The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer stated that efforts will continue to ensure free, fair, and inducement-free elections in Delhi.
